The NSW Meals on Wheels Association Inc. develops meals on wheels and food services organisations. It represents other community services organisations to ensure eligible clients within the Home and Community Care (HACC) target group have access to high quality services.
The Association leads community service provision, maintains strong links with government and non government sectors and forges partnerships with business and the community.
The Association supports and recognises the unique role of volunteers.
The Association receives financial support from the Home Care and Community Care (HACC) programme. The HACC programme funds support services that assist frail older people, people with disabilities and carers to remain living at home in their communities.
The Association supports and assists members by:
Informing and advising on government policies
Guiding in industrial matters
Assisting with service development
Facilitating and coordinating consultations
Representing members on a range of programme and government steering committees
Offering training and development programmes
Liaising with government and non-government organisations
Operating a comprehensive insurance programme
Advocating and lobbying on behalf of members
Promoting best practice and innovative service models.
