The Sight Support Centre can be visited by people with poor vision in order to select from and trial a wide range of magnification equipment. The centre is located at Rydalmere and has trained professional staff to provide assistance. Bookings are essential but no referral is required from a doctor. Products can be purchased at the centre.

This centre provides a relaxed showroom of appliances. If appropriate, an appliance can be purchased from the centre without prescription. It can also be installed and trialled at home for two weeks, with no obligation to purchase.

Some assistive technology needs to meet Australian or other standards. Standards may relate to materials, manufacturing and installation. Products that meet Australian or international standards will have written certification. To find out if a product meets Australian Standards ask the supplier to show you the certificate.
