More Details

Local Fire Brigades will visit and install the smoke detectors and manage the database of residents participating, enabling them to monitor replacement of batteries in the future.

Via a database, an elderly citizen's closest fire station will be notified when that person is likely to require a visit from a member of the Fire Brigade for the purpose of changing smoke alarm batteries. During this visit, fire fighters also have the opportunity to offer advice on any further potential fire risks in the home. Twelve months from that date, the NSWFB will make an appointment to recheck the smoke alarms and/or batteries.

Carers are also given fire safety information to help them identify potential problems and hazards in the homes of their clients. A checklist is used to identify problems which may arise, and advice is given on how to address these.

Price Guide

Contact your nearest Fire Brigade or call 000 (Triple Zero) in an emergency.
