Frame
The frame of the bed is made from powder coated steel with a solid sheet metal mattress base and four corner buffs.
Headboard/Footboard
A range of headboards and footboards is available.
Adjustments
Backrest angle, knee break position, bed height and forward and reverse Trendelenburg tilt. These may all be operated independently.
Controls
are hand held on an extendable cord. Single control piece with flat rectangular push buttons, which each have a specific function, operates the beds.
Mattress
Various mattress options including convoluted or standard foam. Covers may include a vapour permeable, breathable, water resistant cover with two way stretch.
Castors
The bed has 200mm solid rubber, central lock castors.
Brakes
Central locking pedal type brake operates on all four castors.
Bed Rails
Side rails are optional and fold down alongside the bed.
Safety Features
Battery back up is available to enable the bed to be operated in the event of power failure.
CPR release
Power Source
is through a 240 volt power point. The power is supplied to the hand piece through a 12 volt transformer.

Note:
- legrest raise: leg section of bed elevates and bends at knee area and the foot end of the bed remains elevated parallel to the bed frame
- Knee break: leg section of bed elevates and bends at knee area so the legs below the knee are angled downwards (triangular configuration)
- Trendelenburg Tilt: allows the entire bed to tilt so a person's feet can be higher than their head. Reverse Trendelenburg tilts the bed in the opposite direction.
Factors To Consider
In certain circumstances there is an element of risk involved in the use of a bed pole or bed rail. All users require an initial risk assessment. A risk assessment should be undertaken in each circumstance of use. The Bed Pole or Bed rail should not be used in circumstances where there is a gap between the vertical components and the mattress. Users most at risk would include: those with physical limitations, cognitive impairment or a combination of both, or where the intended user's faculties are comprised by medication. Users should have the risk assessed prior to the prescription of a bed rail or bed pole.
Regular monitoring is recommended particularly where the condition is changing.
