A low air loss mattress replacement system consisting of a 16 cell mattress and control unit. Includes pulsation and features to preset the pressure to the patients weight. An optional hand held control is available for patient use. A foot pillow prevents slipping down the bed. The load capacity is 308.7kg. Suitable for bariatric use. Custom sizes are available.

STRUCTURE
16 individual cells (baffles) divided into three sections: head, seat and foot. Integrated side air bolsters with foot pillow. Air circulates through the cells and escapes from 33 air openings distributed equally across the top mattress surface. It circulates under a vapour permeable cover to wick moisture away from the patient.
A Foot Pillow prevents skin breakdown due to patient slipping down the bed.

COVER
Waterproof, vapour permeable (breathable), zippered mattress cover

ATTACHMENT
Four straps are located on each side of the mattress cover. These are for strapping to the bed frame.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Upright Patient Mode
Provides added support when the bed head is elevated. Patient can sit upright without bottoming out.

Firm Mattress Mode
Helps facilitate nursing care during dressing changes and patient repositioning.

System Lock
Prevents accidental adjustments and automatically resets the system in case of power failure

Auto Comfort
During set up, mattress sets optimal pressure according to patient's weight distribution.

Pulsation
Provides three cycle settings that continually readjust the system to ensure patient comfort.

APPLICATION
The manufacturer states that all SelectAir mattresses can be used on patients with any stage ischaemic (pressure) ulcer, myocutaneous skin flaps, skin grafts and/or patients with temperature, moisture control or pain management issues.

SAFETY
In case of emergency, turn the power off. Deflation will be aided by removing the hose from the mattress or control unit.

CLEANING
Follow manufacturer's instructions for disinfecting the mattress.

Factors To Consider

All pressure reduction products must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion or mattress. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct inflation levels), a different product may need to be considered.
