Safety Features
The bed has a number of design features that promotes safety including:
*Bed height: The bed lowers to 185 mm to prevent people from leaving the beds unintentionally, such as sleep walking. The feature also promotes mobility because it does allow a person to intentionally raise the bed to a suitable height for getting on / off
*Wheels: the Oroton has six castor wheels creating a central locking feature and extra stability.
*Raising and lowering mechanism: the Oroton works on scissor action that creates a large clearance space underneath the bed for lifting devices, but also means that the bed raises and lowers in the vertical plane, creating extra space in the room and limiting wall damage.
*The ProContour mattress platform has four panels as opposed to the
normal two meaning that the bed more accurately follows the curves of
the human body.
Power Source
A 240 Volt AC adaptor using mains power
Motor
Total of four motors with one control box located on the bed, encased in
protective coverings to comply with health standards.
Note:
- legrest raise: leg section of bed elevates and bends at knee area and the foot end of the bed remains elevated parallel to the bed frame
- Knee break: leg section of bed elevates and bends at knee area so the legs below the knee are angled downwards (triangular configuration)
