Short Description
This spiral bound book is a resource guide on parenting for people with disability in NSW. Future plans are to develop the resource as a web site. It is also available in braille format.
More Details
The NSW Network of Women with Disability, with the support of a grant from the City of Sydney council, has developed a "one stop" information resource for women and men with disability who are considering pregnancy and parenthood.
Information is provided on websites, books, DVDs, support groups, personal stories, and where to access (plans on) modified equipment for parenting.
This guide is also a useful resource for people who work alongside / support people with a special need e.g. child & family support workers within community health settings, social workers and other allied health professionals, midwives and obstetricians, and disability support workers. The information may be of interest also to those who work in domains related to women's health, sexuality, relationships, and (in)fertility management.
A text only version is available via email or CD on request for people with vision impairment or reading challenges. A limited number of Braille copies are available.
