Factors To Consider
1. All pressure reduction products must be monitored to prevent any 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony prominences are pressed against the surface below the mattress or seating cushion. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (e.g. correct inflation levels), a different product may need to be used. User weights can change over time and the weight limit including linen on bed ,etc should not exceed the recommended product safe working load limit.
2. If non-blanchable erytheme (redness) is observed either reposition the patient more frequently or upgrade to a higher level support surface.
3. The Roho cushions can be punctured.
