A mid wheel drive, aluminium framed, rigid powered wheelchair that can be easily disassembled for transportation. The wheelchair is available in sizes to suits adults and children. The chair is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Seating options and sizes can be customised. A range of options and accessories are available.

MATERIALS: aluminium frame. Covers are available in red, blue, black and orange colour.

SEAT: Available with a Synergy seating system or the Tru Balance power tilt seat. The Syndergy seat is available in manual recline and/or tilt models. The Tru Balance seat is a power tilting and/or reclining system. The 1107 can also be purcahsed with a high back contoured "Euro" seat.

HEADREST: Available in large or small size.

ARMRESTS: Standard: flip back full length. Can be cane mounted or 2 pole design

CONTROLS: The controller is programmable and features flush on / off and mode switches, proportional joystick, battery charge indicator, and speed control. The controller can be mounted on the left or right side.

BATTERIES: The chair is powered by two 32 AH batteries located within a cartridge style battery box under the frame. The battery charging point is located underneath the controller.

WHEELS: pneumatic 10" (250mm) drive wheels

CASTORS: There are two rear castors and 2 front anti tippers. Rear castors are solid 6" (150mm). Front anti tippers are 5" (125mm) solid and adjustable.

BRAKES: electronic regenerative disc brakes

FEATURES: Features "Active-Trac" suspension for enhanced performance on uneven terrain. Is compatible with many seating and control options.

DISMANTLING: The chair can be dismantled for transport.

Factors To Consider

The space allowed on public transport for carrying mobility equipment is an area of 1300mm by 800mm.

Wheelchair spaces
All new Sydney buses feature special 'kneeling suspension' and a ramp to provide easy access for less mobile passengers.

There are spaces for two wheelchairs on the new buses. These will accommodate most manual and electric wheelchairs with max. length 1250mm, max. width 750mm, max. turning circle1500mm, and max weight 200kg.

For safety reasons, passengers in wheelchairs are advised to face the back of the bus, bracing their wheelchair against the side of the space, applying the brakes and securing the seat belt of the wheelchair.

Wheelchair accessible buses display a blue and white wheelchair sign on the front of the bus, and on the easy access door.

Licence & Insurance Requirements

Registration requirements
In NSW, motorised wheelchairs that weigh less than 110 kg and cannot travel at more than 10 km/h do not have to be registered, provided they are being used by a person with mobility problems. A person driving a motorised wheelchair under these circumstances is defined as a pedestrian under the Australian Road Rules and is permitted to travel on a footpath or nature strip adjacent to the road.

Vehicles exempt from registration are covered by the nominal defendant scheme (administered by the Motor Accidents Authority) if they are at fault in an accident in NSW on a road or road-related area and cause injury to another person. However, this cover is only valid in NSW.
