Short Description

This standing aid consists of an upright steel frame mounted on a mobile platform. It is used by an attendant to transfer a person in a standing position from one seat to another over short distances. The frame has a handgrip bar and knee supports. The foot support has six wheels. An optional belt can be used to assist the occupant into a standing position.

Method Of Use

To use the Return
* Apply brake on wheels of ReTurn
* Place the users feet where indicated on the base plate and assist to lean forward and grab the support bars
* Transfer to a standing position with knees against support pads and hands on grab bars
* Attendant should provide counterbalance during all transfers
* Attendant to release brakes and move user and device to desired location
* Reapply brakes and lower into new seated position

To Use the belt
* The belt should be applied prior to standing
* Guide the lower part of the belt towards the base of the buttocks
* The elastic part of the strap should be above the buttocks and the rigid part below
* Attach the belt using the hook and loop straps
* Fasten the securing buckle around the central pole

More Details

* The ReTurn transfer device is used to lift or transfer a person between chair / bed/ or toilet using a pivoting action
* The user needs to have sufficient upper limb strength to grasp the central grip area and pull themselves up
* Foam padded knee pads are mounted to the uprights and are height and angle adjustable
* The stand has two foot activated brakes that allow the standing aid to be secured before the person attempts to stand up
* The Return separates into two parts for easy transportation
* The optional Return belt assists the attendant to lift the person's bottom up from a chair or bed. The belt features a hook and loop fastener, an additional clasp to tighten around the user's hips, and handles on either side. It sits around the hips and the attendant uses the hand holds to grip and pull as the person starts to stand.

Factors To Consider

* It is strongly advised that Standing Aid be used with the Return Belt for extra support
* Please note that the attendant should always hold onto the upright component and stand on the base of the transfer device. This is to counterbalance the weight of the user as the user stands,and to ensure the device does not tip backwards
