Short Description
This mattress replacement system is used to prevent and treat pressure ulcers up to and including category 4. The system combines air with a Visco soft foam surface to provide a special degree of user comfort as well as pressure relief. The foam structure incorporating the alternating cells, is key to the pain management. It has a very quiet battery operated pump. The mattress is available in a range of sizes. It can also be customised.

More Details
Structure
* This mattress has eight alternating air cells and these cells are encased in high resilient foam
* On top of the high resilient foam, closest to the user, is a thin layer of visco-elastic foam. This construction reduces the alternating sensation and the potential for shearing
* The mattress incorporates a heel slope and anti-shear inner cover
Attachment
The replacement system sits directly onto the bed base
Pump / Controls
* The silent electrically operated pump is attached to the mattress system
* The pump needs to be connected to 220-240V electrical socket
* The on/off switch is easily accessible and the pressure control has a digital display
* The correct air pressure is set by using the arrows (1-10). Guidelines according to user weight are given in the table on the pump
* The mattress comes with a written guide (for reference of required pressure level). The pressure is set by entering the users weight
* The pump is portable
Cover
* The cover is separate to the overlay
* The material is vinyl, washable, water resistant, fitted, four way stretch, and fluid resistant
* The cover is breathable and has been tested to ISO16603
Customised Features
The mattress size can be customised to suit the individual user
Safety Features
* During a power failure, both the sound and light alarm will activate
* When the low pressure light is on, the pressure in the mattress is below normal. Both the light and sound alarm will activate
* CPR deflation. To empty the air cells, pull the CPR band placed between mattress and pump
