Envirowalk Grating Ramp

Envirowalk Grating

This fibreglass grating (also known as FRP) is used for ramps, walkway surfaces and stair treads and nosings. Panels are joined together to provide the required surface. It is slip resistant and can provide a firm surface over soft ground to enable access for wheeled mobility aids. Various types of grating are available.

Models

Mini-Mesh Grating
Used as a public walkway surface in National Parks and other eco-sensitive reserves

Standard mesh grating

Rectangular mesh grating
Used for general walkways, suited to a wide range of footwear
* Has been supplied for creating long sloping walkways in private residences

Safety Stair Nosing
Available as 76 x 25 mm, 50 x 50 or 50 x 25 mm and is normally available ex stock in lengths up to 2000 mm. Lengths may be cut to desired lengths if required.

Stair Treads with or without kick plate
Envirowalk Stair Treads are available in both Standard Mesh and Mini-Mesh. Standard Mesh Treads can be either 38mm or 50mm thick. Mini-Mesh Treads are available only in 38mm Thick panels. All treads are supplied with a choice of concave or Gritted surface and may be obtained in a variety of colours subject to order quantity. The treads generally have a nosing that is of a different colour to the main body of the Tread. H38 Standard Mesh and Mini-Mesh Treads are available with a solid 38mm Kickplate bonded along the back edge.

Installation

Cutting and smoothing FRP grating
Even though it has a very low toxic content cutting FRP products create a very fine dust. It is recommended that full face protection is used. Contact the supplier for their recommendations.

The sections are joined together with various stainless steel clips and fasteners.

Standards

Standards
Some assistive technology needs to meet Australian or other standards. Standards may relate to materials, manufacturing and installation. Products that meet Australian or international standards will have written certification. To find out if a product meets Australian Standards ask the supplier to show you the certificate. TGA
Many of the items on the Assistive Technology Australia website are categorised as a Medical Device. Medical devices that are approved for use in Australia have been entered into a national database called the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG), which is maintained by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). You can ask the supplier for the ARTG number for the device you wish to purchase and search the ARTG for the entry. To access information on the ARTG visit www.tga.gov.au

When buying a medical device it is advisable to only choose a medical device that is recommended by a healthcare professional and has been included on the ARTG.

According to the supplier's website, Envirowalk products are manufactured according to ISO 9001-2000A, B S (American Bureau of Shipping) Certification requirements and ASTM specifications.
