Short Description

An air filled, electrically operated, alternating pressure mattress replacement system with a high density foam base. Designed for domestic and commercial use. Available in a range of sizes, including custom made sizes. The manufacturer has designed this product for prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers up to and including category 4.

Structure
* The mattress replacement is designed to be used with an electrically adjustable bed and features 20 alternating air cells which lie on top of a dense foam base
* The mattress features a "Cell in Cell" system, with each alternating air cell containing an internal static air cell (green in colour). The "Cell in Cell' system is designed to assist with prevention of bottoming out and to assist with maintaining mattress inflation during the event of punctures
* The external alternating air cells feature a low air loss system, where each of the polyurethane cells feature very small perforations to allow air flow throughout the cells
* The cells in the heel area are smaller in structure to assist with additional pressure redistribution
* The first three cells located in the head area are static (do not alternate)

Pump Unit
* Electrically operated and is attached to the overlay
* It has an inbuilt adjustment system which senses the user's weight and position and inflates the cells to a suitable level
* The air cells alternate on a ten minute cycle beneath the foam overlay
* The pump features a digital display with an on/off switch and a "static" mode switch

Cover
* Made of a multi stretch, polyurethane material and is fluid resistant and vapour permeable (breathable)
* The base of the cover is polyurethane coated. It features welded seams and a full length flap to conceal the zip
* An inner anti-shear cover enables the outer cover to slide on the inner anti-shear cover to assist with shear reduction
* The cover is machine washable up to 95 degrees and can be tumble dried

Safety features
* No turning of mattress is required
* CPR release tag for rapid deflation
* The system incorporates sensory software within the pump to help determine user weight and assist with regulation of air cell inflation
* The mattress has an alarm and flashing light system which will activate to alert the user in case of power failure
