More Details
Structure
* 17 single piece PU air cells
ODSTM cell design for optimum user support and security
* Air cells feature ortho-differential support (ODSTM) which provides optimum internal cell pressures for varying body weights and shapes, automatically compensating for the user's BMI. The air cells are narrower in the centre than at the outer edge, supporting the smaller, lighter user on the softer central area of the cell, and the larger, heavier user on the firmer outer edges, as well as providing a feeling of security for the user.
Low Air Loss Feature
Air is released and circulated beneath the cover to reduce humidity and help manage the user's microclimate.
Cover
* PU coated stretch nylon
* Wipe clean vapour permeable, waterproof, two way stretch cover which can be removed and machine washed and tumble dried
Attachment
* The mattress features anti-kink and non tear anchoring straps
* The robust power unit features an integrated carry handle and adjustable hanging brackets
Pump / Controls
* Support Surface Recognition. The power unit automatically recognises which support surface (overlay or mattress replacement) is connected and applies the therapy appropriate to the product without the need for user intervention
* Simple, concise operation buttons with autolock feature to prevent
inadvertent button operation.
* Power unit features audio alerts together with LCD screen showing current operation status / fault conditions
* Comfort Control allows the carer to adjust the comfort setting in either
therapy mode to help user compliance
* Transport Facility allows unpowered support of the user for up to four hours
* Phase Flow? pressure control pump operates on demand only, reducing
power consumption, noise and extending service life.
Safety Features
* CPR Function with flush-fitting simple and effective rapid deflation valve removes air from the mattress to enable CPR procedures
Factors To Consider
All pressure reduction products must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion or mattress. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct inflation levels), a different product may need to be considered.
It is advisable that a health professional be consulted when considering a suitable pressure care product.
Standards
Some assistive technology needs to meet Australian or other standards. Standards may relate to materials, manufacturing and installation. Products that meet Australian or international standards will have written certification. To find out if a product meets Australian Standards ask the supplier to show you the certificate.
