Short Description
A curved slide board made from fibreglass with a slip resistant rubber base. Cut outs in the board enable it to be positioned over wheels of the wheelchair. A low friction looped piece of material called a Glide Wing can be attached centrally to the board via Velcro and is designed to slide over itself to assist transferring.
Method Of Use
1 Position the butterfly glide board under the user with the cut-out sections around any obstacles e.g. wheels
2. Make sure the glide wing is evenly distributed under the users buttocks
3. Move horizontally across the butterfly glide board

More Details
* Immedia Butterfly glideboard can be used in many situations for transfer from wheelchair to bed, bath chair, car etc.
* The user needs to possess enough strength in arms and body together with a good balance to use this aid independently for transferring in the above situations
* The transfer can also be performed with one or two helpers
* During moving, the body of the user is turned approx. 35 in relation to his/her initial position. This is to impart a natural movement to the user when moving.
* The special cut outs are made to match wheelchair wheels.
Material
* The Immedia butterfly is made of fibreglass with a slip resistant material on the back. This prevents the board from sliding out of place.
* The Glide Wing has a low friction nylon on its inner surface and a water resistant polyurethane outer surface
Maintenance
Cleaning
* The butterfly glide board can be cleaned with soapy water or alcohol
* The surface of the glide wing can be washed with soapy water or alcohol. It can be machined washed at 80 degrees celcius and dried at an initial temperature of 120 degrees celcius and finished at 80 degrees celcius
