Short Description
A hard plastic mug that can have no handle, one handle or two handles. The cup is designed to provide measured small swallows with each normal drinking motion. The cup is available with a blue lid that dispenses 5ml (cc) or a brown lid that dispenses 10ml (cc).
Method Of Use
Drink from the spout using a normal drinking motion.
The cup must be returned to an upright position after each drinking motion to meter the next dose of liquid.
Overfilling of the cup above the moulded line can also cause the cup to malfunction.
The well formed within the cup top is part of the measuring mechanism and must be kept dry at all times.

More Details
* The cup is designed for users who have difficulty swallowing and may be at risk of aspirating liquid into their lungs
* The cup is shaped to provide adequate nose clearance to minimise head tilt
* It is purchased with two handles and is designed so that none, one or two can be attached. The handle is open at the lower end with good clearance from the mug. Once attached, the handles cannot be removed. Attempting to remove handles after attachment could damage the cup and cause it to malfunction.
* The cup can be used with all thin liquids. Using thick liquids with the cup is not recommended.
Size
* 5 ml (cc) of liquid per swallow - approximately one teaspoon
* 10ml (cc) of liquid per swallow - approximately two teaspoons
Factors To Consider
Some people have problems eating or drinking. This is a serious health risk. Signs include difficulty swallowing and chewing foods, coughing when eating or drinking, or food getting stuck in or spilling from the mouth. If you are concerned visit a speech pathologist of consult your GP.
It is important that the cup handles are attached correctly or the cup could malfunction. Once attached do not attempt to detach the handles as this could also damage the cup and cause it to malfunction.
The vent hole at the back of the cup is a critical feature of the measuring device. At no time should this feature be used for drinking. If the cup is tilted backwards toward the vent it will result in leakage of liquid.
Maintenance
Cleaning requirements
The Cup must be disassembled prior to cleaning. Wash the cup parts with soap and hot water and rinse. Allow to air dry. All parts are top rack, home and industrial dishwasher safe.
