Alzheimer's Australia is the peak body providing support and advocacy for the 500,000 Australians living with dementia. State and Territory organisations provide information, support. Advocacy and education services. Information about dementia and memory loss is on their website.
Alzheimer's Association NSW is the headquarters for statewide services as well as being a resource centre for people with dementia, their carers and anyone with an interest in dementia. A 24 hour helpline offers information and referrals to health and community services.
DementiaNet is an information website for people with dementia and their families. It is designed to be practical, easy to navigate and not depressing. It also has an interactive feature where people where people affected by dementia and their relatives have the opportunity to meet and exchange experiences as well as finding information and help.
A national telephone advisory service for people who provide care and are concerned about the behaviours of people with dementia and any issues around accessing or providing respite.
A 24 hour telephone information and support service available across Australia. It is staffed by trained and experienced advisors who provide support for people with dementia, their family and carers.
