ADSI provides an information line, newsletter and support groups and self help treatment groups for people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and other anxiety disorders.
ARAFMI NSW (Inc) provides support and advocacy for families and friends with mental illness or disorder. Their Information line provides information, support and referral to families and friends of people with mental illness. This includes people in crisis situations.
Buckingham house is a non residential day-to-day living program for people with with mental health issues to learn life skills and participate in recreational activities. It is a service of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association.
FAP provides free 12 Week Self Help groups for people living with social anxiety, phobias, anxiety, panic and obsessive compulsive disorder. Self help groups are based on a structured behaviour therapy program. Support groups are located in Sydney metropolitan and rural areas.
The Mental health Advocacy Service provides free legal advice and representation at Mental Health Act hearings at psychiatric hospitals and the Guardianship Board. The MHAS also provides telephone information on mental health law and will accept reverse charge phone calls.
The Association promotes mental health and assists in the prevention of mental health illness and disability resulting from mental illness in NSW. It offers a confidential telephone service provides information and referral to mental health services.
Sane Australia is a national charity working for a better life for people affected by mental illness through education, research and campaigning. Sane operates a national freecall helpline which provides information and advice about mental illness. People can also contact the Sane Helpline via the email address or via the website.
