Australian Standard on nomenclature, terms and definitions for wheelchairs. Defines the basic elements of wheelchairs and gives terms and definitions for these elements in an illustrated glossary.
The Australian Standard AS 3695-1992 specifies requirements for wheelchairs which are either manually operated or electrically powered. The standard covers requirements for design and construction, materials, performance requirements, testing, marking and informative labelling. Wheelchairs can be tested against the requirements of the AS 3695-1992 at Regency Park Centre in South Australia.
