Short Description

Tellus 4 is a wheelchair mountable, computer-based, dynamic display speech generating device. It is fully integrated with internet, environmental control and a full range of accessing methods. The device has a water resistant 13.3 inch touchscreen display. Tellus 4 is based on the Mind Express 4 graphic communication program and is often used with the Grid 2 communication software (additional cost required). The Tellus 4 can also be integrated with the Intelligaze IG-30 eye gaze system for eye gaze access.

More Details

Speech
* Recorded speech and/or synthesised speech (depends on communication software used). The Mind Express 4 communication software that comes with Tellus 4 uses Realspeak synthesised speech (with Australian accents). The Grid 2 software uses Australian Realspeak and UK voices. Access
* Access via touchscreen, mouse, switches, head tracking, joystick, eye-control

* Facility to turn on using an external switch

Symbols
* PCS and Symbolstix are included in the symbol sets available in the Mind Express 4 communication software. If third party software is used, the type of symbols available will depend on communication software.

Language
* User can generate messages by selecting symbols or by spelling, using word prediction and/or selecting whole words using the Mind Express 4 communication software. The program has a built-in grammar module which provides automatic conjugations of verbs. User can also install their choice of communication software (capabilities will depend on software installed).

Connectivity
Connections include three USB 2.0 direct switch ports, 3 programmable buttons, SD card slot, SIM card slot, WLAN, Bluetooth and headphone port. There are 2 ports for switches at the back of the Tellus.
