More Details
In the event of a person requiring medical assistance, a press of the pendant sends an instruction to the receiver to dial VitalCall. The person's information (which is provided by the person) is automatically displayed to the VitalCall Response Centre, so they know who the person is, where they live, their medical history and who they would like contacted in an emergency.
The VitalCall Operator talks with the person until help arrives and determines what assistance is required.
In many cases, the person elects to have a neighbour, relative, or an ambulance attend and because VitalCall meets the Australian Standard for the provision of Personal Emergency Response Systems (AS4607-1999), the ambulance service recognises their alarm activations and request for ambulance attendance.
