Short Description
This is a resource centre for microcomputer based technology. It aims to provide advice to people with disabilities and their carers on the benefits and possibilities of computer technology and also assists with non -electronic systems. The electronic technology ranges from a simple on/off switch to sophisticated voice output communication devices and personal computer adaptations.

CATS is available to people of all ages and any disability. It is staffed
by occupational therapists and a speech pathologist.
Services:
* Telephone Information Line - between 9 am and 5 pm weekdays.
Information is provided about communication technology by phone, fax, mail or email.
* Permanent display of Specialised Equipment - by appointment.
Advisory Sessions
Individual appointments can be made for:
* Control and Access - evaluation of functional abilities is carried out to determine appropriate methods of accessing technology. This can include switches, an environmental control unit.
* Augmentative Communication - assistance in determining the most suitable communication system.
* Equipment Hire - equipment may be hired for short periods to assess suitability.
* Training Sessions - to assist with set-up and use of equipment.
