Short Description
Automobility offers four main rear access wheelchair conversions as well as a self drive from a wheelchair conversion. The vehicles include Kia Carnival, Mercedes Benz Vito, Volkswagen Transporter and Chrysler Voyager. Side entry is optional on the Volkswagen. Vehicle conversions can be customised.

. Automated door and ramp
. Wheelchair lap sash seat belt occupant restraint system
. Powerbase seat conversion allowing for self drive or front seat passenger for wheelchair occupants. Power base allows the front seat to be moved back to allow the person to transfer to that seat and then move the seat to the front seating row.
. Ibis lifter
Models
Kia Carnival
. Fully flat floor pan from rear of vehicle to immediately rearward of the front seats. Approx 2200mm long and 850mm wide.
. A folding aluminium rear access ramp with a slip resistant surface. The ramp folds up and is stowed in the vehicle in front of the vehicle tailgate.
2 options for Kia Carnival vehicles:
. Wheelchair transported at second seating row - allows up to 6 seats plus one wheelchair or 4 seats plus two wheelchairs
. Wheelchair transported at row three - 5 seating positions plus one wheelchair position behind second row of seats
Mercedes Vito
. Can be converted to carry two wheelchairs and four passengers or six passengers and one wheelchair (otherwise carries eight passengers)
. Swing away three seater bench seat in the rear in the rear seating row allows for quick and easy loading of wheelchairs.
Side entry model
. Has a Ricon under floor hoist. An optional internal Ibis lift is an alternative to the standard seat to seat transfer. The front passenger seat is mounted to a swivel base to allow the wheelchair occupant to be transferred from the wheelchair to the front passenger seat using the Ibis lift.
Chrysler Voyager
Flexible seating option allows for the wheelchair to be positioned in either the second or third row.
Volkswagen Transporter
Lowered floor wheelchair access. Options to travel in either the front or second row. Side entry available with an underfloor lift.

Standards

Purchasers are advised to check with the supplier or manufacturer of this item as to its compliance with relevant Standard (s).
When purchasing a wheelchair accessible vehicle or a vehicle to be used with a roof mounted wheelchair hoist consider the vertical clearances of these in relation to the vertical clearances recommended by AS2890.1 (Off street Car Parking), and AS4299 (Adaptable Housing). The recommendations are as follows.
Vertical clearance at the entrance to an off street car park - minimum 2200mm
The height of the vehicle or the height of the vehicle plus the hoist and folded wheelchair on the roof should be less than 2200mm to enter an off street car park.
Vertical clearance above an accessible car parking space - minimum 2500mm. The vertical height required to unload / load a wheelchair on/off the vehicle roof should be less than 2500mm.
