CHEST HARNESSES
Boomerang harnesses:
. in small, medium and large sizes
. Padded with synthetic covering and webbing straps with plastic buckles. The upper and lower straps are screwed to the wheelchair / chair. The padded sections are meant to cover the lower 2/3 of the chest. The lower straps are not designed to be adjusted after the initial fitting. This is to prevent the harness from "riding up".
. These harnesses are customised for very young children. It is necessary to make an appointment with the Cerebral Palsy Alliance. Made from padded neoprene.
H Harness: Adult chest harness. Straps with a buckle are fixed to the wheelchair. The harness shoulder straps are threaded through these buckles.
PELVIC STRAPS
. 2 or 4 point styles. The upper straps on the 4 point style are designed to pull the pelvis back further where required for correct positioning.
. Padded over front section.
. Webbing straps with plastic buckle or seat belt buckle. These are adjusted before fitting ie. after the initial adjustment they are not to be adjusted while in use.
Factors To Consider
. These products are not RTA approved safety restraints for vehicles
. Supervision is recommended
. Do not leave a child unattended in a harness or pelvic strap.
