A rear wheel drive scooter designed for indoor and outdoor use. Available in three and four wheel models. Features finger operated controls, moulded two tone upholstered seating, reclining backrest and swivelling and sliding seat. The load capacity is 200kg. A range of accessories is available.

More Details

FRAME
This scooter has an epoxy coated steel frame, moulded plastic cowlings and carpet style matting on the foot platform. Chrome bumpers are located on the front and rear of the wheel base.

SEAT
has two levers located underneath the seat. The first is located under the front right hand side and allows the seat to swivel through 180 degrees. The second is located at the right hand side of the seat and allows the seat to slide forwards and backwards. The padded armrests are lift up and height and width adjustable via black screw knobs. A lever is located on the right hand side of the seat to operate the recline mechanism. The headrest is height adjustable.

STEERING COLUMN
can be tilt adjusted via a black screw knob located above the front wheels and is controlled via foam covered handles.

FRONT WHEELS
are 250mm diameter, pneumatic tyres.

REAR WHEELS
are 260mm diameter, pneumatic tyres.

BATTERY CHARGING
is achieved by connecting the scooter from the charger inlet located on the left hand side of the control panel to a mains power point.

BATTERIES
are two 42 amp, dry cell batteries. They are stored with carry straps under the seat.

FOOTREST
is a flat platform between the steering column and battery cover.

CONTROLS
feature a key for turning the scooter on and off, a proportional lever speed control, buttons to control headlights, hazard lights and horn, a lever to control indicators, and a battery charge indicator. The finger controls can be adjusted for right or left handed driving.

BRAKES are electromagnetic.

FREEWHEELING
The scooter can be free wheeled by pulling a lever located at the rear right hand corner of the base near the rear wheels.

DISMANTLING
The scooter dismantles into 2 parts for transport - front and rear wheel base. The backrest can also be folded down onto the seat to facilitate transport.

SAFETY FEATURES include:
Anti tip wheels - to prevent the scooter from tipping over when driving up slopes and ramps.
Reversing Beeper - a beeper sounds when the scooter is being reversed.

This item should be trialled in the users home environment to ensure maximum safety / independence. Environmental considerations include kerbs, footpaths, road / railway crossings, etc

The space allowed on public transport for carrying mobility equipment is an area of 1300mm by 800mm.

State transit will only carry scooters with an unladen weight of less than 200 kg and which can be driven onto the bus, and manoeuvred to fit wholly within the designated wheelchair space under their own power. Any such scooters carried must also comply where relevant with the rules applying to wheelchairs.

Three wheeled mobility aids of any kind are unstable in normal bus operations and will not be carried because of the safety risk.

Licence & Insurance Requirements

In NSW, motorised wheelchairs that weigh less than 110 kg and cannot travel at more than 10 km/h do not have to be registered, provided they are being used by a person with mobility problems. A person driving a motorised wheelchair under these circumstances is defined as a pedestrian under the Australian Road Rules and is permitted to travel on a footpath or nature strip adjacent to the road.

Vehicles exempt from registration are covered by the nominal defendant scheme (administered by the Motor Accidents Authority) if they are at fault in an accident in NSW on a road or road-related area and cause injury to another person. However, this cover is only valid in NSW.
