TRACK MOUNTING
The stairlift consists of a single aluminium tube track mounted onto the staircase tread. It features a rack and pinion drive mechanism.
METHOD OF LIFT OPERATION
Control of the stairlift is via a joystick with a constant pressure up/down switch. A handheld remote controller with constant pressure up/down buttons is used for the "Call/Send" function which can operate the stairlift if the user is at the opposite end of the stairlift.
POSITION OF SWITCH
Joystick is located on the arm of the stairlift.
Remote controller is placed at the top and bottom of the stairway.
ARMRESTS
are on both sides, padded and lift up.
The Stand and Perch model features a safety barrier arm as standard
FOOTREST
is a solid platform. Has a slip resistant surface and lifts up.
SEAT
is padded, lifts up, and manually swivels at the top or bottom of the stairway. Powered seat swivel is optional.
The height adjustable seat on the Stand and Perch model accommodates both a standing or perching position.
POWER SOURCE
The stairlift is battery powered, using a battery charging system that constantly charges the batteries regardless if where the stairlift is positioned (thus operation continues in the event of a power failure). The battery charging system plugs into the mains power.
SAFETY FEATURES
All leading edges feature pressure sensitive contacts to immobilise the stairlift if it encounters an obstruction on the stairway.
A low voltage 24 volt battery backup system allows continued operation in the event of a power failure.
A digital diagnostic display is mounted on the upper face of the unit. In the event of a fault occurring a telephone call to you stairlift provider can determine if an engineer call out is necessary.
Below to the visual diagnostic display is a rocker switch, that can be used to isolate the power supply to the lift, yet it will still allow the stairlift to accept charge.
