Short Description

A stainless steel frame for donning and removing socks, stockings and compression stockings. Two long handles with hand grips are available in two heights. The lower leg section that holds the stocking, comes in two widths - large and small. The handles are welded or bolted to the application frame. This frame, without handles, can be used by a carer to apply stockings. Hooks on the frame base are used to remove the stocking.

Method Of Use

To Use:
Application of sock or stocking:
* Place applicator on floor with closed section closest to user.
* Turn stocking inside out as far as the heel.
* Stroke the stocking over the applicator until the heel appears on the half circle. The toe of the stocking should face forwards.
* Whilst sitting on a chair, point your toes and, using the handles, insert foot into stocking, then pull stocking over the foot or push foot through the stocking. This action becomes easier with practice.
* When stocking comes over ankle, use a pull and push motion to pull stocking up your leg, as this prevents over stretching the stocking.
A long stocking can be fitted up to the knee, then the remaining distance is pulled up by hand.
* Smooth out any wrinkles with the palm of your hand
* Ensure that the heel of the stocking fits appropriately.

Removal of sock or stocking:
Sitting on a chair, place Sock On between legs, and with hooked section on front of right side of Sock On, lace hook into right sock or stocking at back of calf of leg and push down over heels. Repeat action with left side hook to remove left sock or stocking.
