Short Description

This battery operated circular unit alerts the user when medication is due and dispenses the dosage. The alert is either an audible alarm or flashing light. It contains 28 compartments and enables up to four alarms per day. The unit is lockable and only the right medication is exposed for dispensing.

Method Of Use

At the pre-programmed times, the dispenser rotates, the alarm signal is heard, and the correct dosage comes into view through the opening in the lid. The alarm continues to ring for 30 minutes. To stop the alarm ringing and dispense the pills, the user tilts the dispenser and the pills fall into the hand or a suitable container.

* At the programmed times, the cassette rotates and the next compartment becomes exposed through an opening in the lid and the alarm signal sounds and the light blinks
* The pills in the other compartments are not accessible. If the medicine is not taken, the Med-e-lert continues to sound the alarm with blinking light for up to 30 minutes
* The alarm automatically resets when medication is taken
* Dispensed medicine lasts for one week when dispensing four times a day and 28 days when dispensing one time a day
* There are three alarm tones plus silence to accommodate different hearing levels
* The clock can be set with 12 or 24 hour display function
* The Med-e-lert has a secure plastic locking key system and a built in test function
* The unit has a low battery indicator and uses 4 x "AAA" size batteries

Factors To Consider

Always check with a pharmacist before storing medications in a dispenser or storage container as some medications require special storage conditions and some medications cannot be kept in the same container as others.
