Short Description
An infrared universal remote control with six large backlit buttons designed for use with a television only. The remote recognises a set code for different brands of televisions and these are used to program the device. Not all brands available in Australia can be controlled with this remote.
Method Of Use
To Program
* Manually turn on TV
* Press and hold ON/OFF and MUTE buttons together for 3 seconds
* The indicator light will remain on
* Press and release CH+ (or CH-) button until TV shuts off (may take several minutes of pressing before code is found)
* Press MUTE button immediately after TV shuts off to complete set-up
* The indicator light will blink three times indicating you've successfully programmed your Tek Pal UTR
* The indicator light will blink three times indicating you're successfully programmed your Tek Pal UTR
Factors To Consider
* The buttons are large and easily visible increasing accessibility to those with vision impairment or reduced fine motor movement
* All six buttons are illuminated for 5 seconds when any button is pressed allowing the device to be operated by people with some vision impairment or in a darkened room
* The raised buttons may assist those with a vision impairment to locate keys using touch
* This remote control may be suitable for those with cognitive and memory impairments because it features only six buttons and four control functions (channel, volume, mute and power)
