Ability Technology provides a complete service for people with disabilities in the areas of computers and related technology. This includes assessment and provision of a large variety of relevant equipment.
Adaptive Technology Services provide independent evaluation, training, information and recommendations on appropriate technology for people who are blind or vision impaired.
Technology is changing constantly and it is impossible for an individual to keep up with new products and developments. Establishing good links with a number of information sources allows individuals to gain up to date information on a range of products and ideas. It is often appropriate to approach a variety of sources to verify information and obtain different perspectives and opinions.
This is a resource centre for microcomputer based technology. It aims to provide advice to people with disabilities and their carers on the benefits and possibilities of computer technology and also assists with non -electronic systems. The electronic technology ranges from a simple on/off switch to sophisticated voice output communication devices and personal computer adaptations.
Green PC refurbishes used computers received from government and business organisations and makes them available, at a low cost, to those who might not usually be able to afford a new computer system. Green PC also offers computer systems and IT services at affordable rates to registered charities and community groups.
This Technical Aid to the Disabled service refurbishes donated computers and provides these to people with disabilities throughout New South Wales. There is a choice of two computer packages, plus optional extras. All computers come with Microsoft XP Professional, Microsoft Office 2003, anti virus software and free delivery in NSW. These products are available at a highly subsidised cost.
This low cost internet service is provided exclusively for people who possess a Disability Service Pension, Aged Pension or DVA entitlement card (subject to conditions). It is the result of a partnership between Technical Aid to the Disabled Australia and internet services provider ISPOne.
TASC stands for Technology solutions for computer Access, Seating and Communication. It is a coordinated service provided by the Spastic Centre of NSW. Professionals advise people with disabilities on technology options to help with communication, computer use and operation of electrical devices and seating, also technicians available for wheelchair repairs. The service is for people with various disabilities throughout NSW & ACT.
