When using technology, many people with disabilities will benefit from accessories to optimise their efficiency. These accessories may be common office items or specialised equipment. The importance of accessories is often undervalued as they can appear to be a relatively minor consideration. However, access to technology and one's ability to use it appropriately can be greatly enhanced by suitable accessories.
Computers are advantageous when specific software features or access options are necessary to allow participation in education leisure and vocation.
Printers produce a paper copy of a document created on a computer. There are various methods of transferring text onto the paper including thermal printing which requires a special kind of paper; ink jet printers which spray a fine mist of ink onto the paper, and laser printers which use a dry powder ink, in combination with heat to set the type onto the page.
