A range of heavy duty slip resistant products for industrial use. They include stair nosings, ladder rung covers and safety plates. They are brightly coloured to provide a colour contrast to a step edge or the surrounding ground surface.
Steps and stairs are potentially dangerous to negotiate. The addition of a slip resistant tread reduces the possibility of feet slipping off the edge of the stair. Stair nosings may also be called stair tread nosings, step treads, anti-slip nosings, capping, step nosings and other variations. Essentially they all have the same function which is to promote pedestrian and public safety. A contrasting in the nosing also assists visibility and safety. Double channeled stair nosing is usually used in heavy traffic areas. Single channel stair nosing is used in medium or light traffic areas. There are a number of Australian and International Standard's and Building Codes that indicate the requirements for Slip Resistant Stair Tread Nosings.
