The Homeless Persons Information Centre (HPIC) is a telephone information and referral service that directs those in the community who are homeless, or at risk of being homeless, to the services that may assist them. It provides professional assessments and referrals for clients seeking accommodation and support services within NSW.
The Housing Connection provides supported accommodation for people with intellectual disabilities who are 18 years of age or older and live on the Lower North Shore. The program also provides support and training in independent living skills and community participation.
Independent Community Living Australia is a community organisation that manages a number of residential services, providing long term, secure and affordable accommodation and support services for people who have psychiatric and other disabilities. Their residential support services are government funded.
Transitional accommodation for people with physical disabilities aged 18-55 is available through ILPD at Blacktown.
Merrylands Independent Living is a residential program for adults with physical disabilities who want to learn to live more independently. Residents live in a low rent, modern purpose built villa accommodation and meet regularly with staff to identify individual goals and plan their future accommodation. It is a program of Northcott.
NILC provides supported accommodation for adults with an intellectual disability, and an Outreach Living Skills program for those in their own accommodation, in the Nepean Area.
NESH is a medium term (3-12 months) womens housing scheme which aims to provide low cost supported housing for women who are migrants with non English speaking background whether or not they have dependant children. Women or their children with a disability may be considered for accommodation but must be able to live / care for themselves independently. NESH is planning to upgrade one property for disabled access and living.
Northcott Housing Links offers affordable, accessible and transitional accommodation to people with a physical disability. The service provides shared accommodation at three houses in the inner metropolitan areas of Sydney.
