With so many different pressure-relieving products on the market, how do you know which one to choose and when to apply it? Discover the features and properties of the various products and find out how to apply them to clients at risk of developing pressure sores.
This course includes an overview of pressure and covers the following:
- Identify pressure sore risks
- Pressure sore management methods
- Critical assessment of cushion features and properties
- Clinical reasoning for cushion selection
- Introduction to pressure mapping as a tool

The Independent Living Centre NSW, with the generous support of the Telstra Foundation, is running free “Everyone Connects” Assistive Technology Workshops in 2014 on using mobile technologies and speech generating devices to access telecommunications and social media.
The workshop has been running since February in Sydney metro as well as regionally in Newcastle, Dubbo, Wagga Wagga and Tamworth. An extra workshop will be run in Bathurst on 29-May-2014.
The workshop is of interest for young people with complex communication needs aged 12-25 years. Family members, carers, teachers, or allied health professionals are also welcome.

This two day course covers clinical aspects of manual wheelchair prescription, and provides hands-on investigation of manual wheelchair features.

- Transportation and handling of manual wheelchairs
