A wedge foam cushion with a keyhole shaped cutout. Available in one size with an optional cotton overcover. Suitable for people who have a low risk of developing pressure sores.
APPLICATION:
. Designed to take the weight on the user's body contact points (ischial tuberosities) and along thighs. Tender parts are left free and no pressure on the perineum means patient comfort is assured.
. Symmetrical aperture is designed to relieve pressure on tender parts It is recommended in cases of post natal or post operative discomfort and haemorrhoids.
. The 9 degree seating angle encourages correct pelvic tilt to reduce pressure on the lumbar discs, thus minimising potential back problems.
. Two way relief wedge. When reclining in bed, keyhole can be turned around so that the thin edge is gently tucked under the buttocks. This prevents the user sliding down the bed and takes considerable pressure off the lower spine.
MATERIAL: Made from heavy duty foam and has a nylon, urethane coated outer.
COVER: waterproof, bacteria resistant
CLEANING: Cushion should not be washed but can be wiped clean with damp cloth. If cushion gets wet it should be dried flat in a warm area.
All cushions must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct choice and depth of foam, correct inflation level) , a different product may need to be considered.
Ensure that the item is not accidentally placed upside down or back to front
It is advisable that a health professional be consulted when considering a suitable pressure care product.
Foam must be regularly replaced as it losses its spring and becomes hard after long term use
