More Details

A rear wheel drive scooter with a gold zinc corrosion resistant steel chassis. The scooter has fibreglass cowlings and wheel covers and a rubber protection strip around the front of the base.

The lighting system includes headlights and reflectors, as well as turn indicators.

The scooter has hill power compensation with high/low speed function, and overspeed automatic braking.

The tiller angle has two positions.

TRANSPORTING the scooter is facilitated by removing the tiller and the seat. The batteries remove, leaving the base with the motors as the heaviest unit.

FREEWHEELING mechanism is operated by a lever situated under the rear cowling next to the wheel and a push button on the tiller.

BATTERY CHARGING is achieved by connecting the charger provided to a mains power point and plugging it into the scooter at the marked charging terminal on the tiller.

BATTERIES are stored in separate fibreglass boxes under the seat, held in place with webbing straps.

REAR WHEELS are 250mm diameter, pneumatic.

FRONT WHEEL is 280mm diameter, pneumatic.

FOOTSPACE is sloped with slip-resistant strips incorporated into the platform. There is sufficient room to place feet either side of the tiller base.

SEAT
The seat is a contoured desk style with leather upholstery, it is height adjustable, slides back and forward, the backrest reclines, and there is a manual locking swivel mechanism. It has lift up arms and the backrest adjusts to a 150 degree recline through pulling on the lever. The operating lever for seat swivel is situated under the right hand side of the seat. The lever is pulled up towards the seat to release the lock.

CONTROLS are a flat, rocker style for acceleration and reverse functions, a speed control knob with fast/slow indicators, an illuminated display for battery status and an on/off power switch or key operated.

BRAKES Electromagnetic, manual parking brakes.

BASKET attaches to the front of the tiller.

Licence & Insurance Requirements

Registration requirements
In NSW, motorised wheelchairs that weigh less than 110 kg and cannot travel at more than 10 km/h do not have to be registered, provided they are being used by a person with mobility problems. A person driving a motorised wheelchair under these circumstances is defined as a pedestrian under the Australian Road Rules and is permitted to travel on a footpath or nature strip adjacent to the road.

Vehicles exempt from registration are covered by the nominal defendant scheme (administered by the Motor Accidents Authority) if they are at fault in an accident in NSW on a road or road-related area and cause injury to another person. However, this cover is only valid in NSW.
