Short Description
This alarm consists of an alarm unit with power pack and a vibration detector which registers the commencement of a seizure after a short time delay. The alarm receiver can be either audible, vibratory or visual (flashing light). It can be modified to incorporate a pager system, which can have either an audible or vibration alarm indication. It can also be connected to an auto dialing system. Consists of four different models.
Models
The Vigil-Aide Convulsion Monitor range consists of four different models:
1) The standard on bed unit that is used to detect a reasonable level of convulsions.
2) The standard bed unit modified with attitude sensors so that the unit can be worn in a pouch on a belt while the person is walking about.
The detector is small and is supplied in a pouch. This is easily attached to the bed of the person being monitored using Velcro strips. It can be installed on any type of bed.
3) The standard bed unit with the convulsion sensor unit removed and placed in a small pouch under the bottom sheet for use where the person being monitored trembles during an attack.
4) A very small unit that can be worn on the wrist or leg of a small child such as a three year old where the child does not have any real physical symptoms but may just move a leg or arm during an attack.
VIGIL-AIDE CANINE (DOG) CONVULSION / EPILEPSY ALARM
Also available is a model that provides an alarm when an epilepsy episode in a dog is detected.
