This scooter has fibreglass cowlings and front and rear bumper pads. It comes standard with a mirror and a full light set.
Seat
The seat is a contoured style with vinyl upholstery, a fold down back rest, and lift up height and width adjustable armrests. The seat is sprung, swivels and slides forward / back whilst the user is in the seat. It has an adjustable head rest, lift up, and fold down backrest. Different seat sizes are available.
Method of operation of seat functions:
. The seat swivels by lifting a lever located on the right side, under the seat.
. The sliding seat mechanism is activated by lifting a lever under the front of the seat, allows the driver to alter seat position while seated.
. The seat is removable by releasing the seat swivel lever and turning the seat to a non locked position and lifting it off.
Front Tiller
The tiller angle is adjustable and features a modesty panel.
Transporting
This is facilitated by folding down the tiller, removing the seat and batteries, pulling out the connector pin from main frame and separating front section from rear section.
Freewheeling
Mechanism is operated by a lever situated under the rear cowling next to the right wheel.
Batteries
Two 55 Amp, dry cell batteries are stored in separate fibreglass boxes under the seat, held in place with webbing straps.
Battery Charging
Is achieved by connecting the charger provided to a mains power point and plugging it into the scooter at the marked charging terminal on the tiller.

Controls
Flat, rocker style for acceleration and reverse functions, a speed control knob with max / min indicators, lights to indicate battery status and horn. The scooter is key operated the switch is located on the tiller. The controls are set standard for right hand use, but can be changed by the supplier for left hand use. There is a high/low range switch for speed governance.

Anti bump - if the speed lever is not in neutral when the key is first switched on the scooter will not drive off
Power Braking - the speed lever can be put in full reverse if the scooter needs to be brought to a stop more quickly
Reversing Beeper - a beeper sounds when the scooter is being reversed.
Fault Warning - a beeper sounds if a fault is detected with the motor

This item should be trialled in the users home environment to ensure maximum safety/independence. Environmental considerations include kerbs, footpaths, road / railway crossings, etc

The space allowed on public transport for carrying mobility equipment is an area of 1300mm by 800mm.
State transit will only carry scooters with an unladen weight of less than 200 kg and which can be driven onto the bus, and manoeuvred to fit wholly within the designated wheelchair space under their own power. Any such scooters carried must also comply where relevant with the rules applying to wheelchairs.
Three wheeled mobility aids of any kind are unstable in normal bus operations and will not be carried because of the safety risk.
