Sensis 1234 helps people find a business or residential information via one phone number. Callers can ask for as much information as they want to know about a business (ie hours of operation, fax number, email address, website address). The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The caller can be connected to the requested number. Charges apply.
FaxStream Duet enables a fax number to be added to an existing phone line. This allows for separate phone and fax numbers without having another line installed. Fax calls to the Duet line will have a distinctive ring while calls to the voice (phone) number continue to ring normally.
The Access for Everyone program is designed to assist people on a low income or facing financial hardship to maintain telecommunications access. Some of the programs are free of access charges, and some are discounted. Customers can select more that one service. Some programs have eligibility criteria.
Telstra service, customer service charter and product information is available in braille and audio formats with people who have a vision or hearing impairment.
The Big Print Bill which has exactly the same information as a standard phone bill, is printed on A3 size paper and features large type. It comes folded in an A4 envelope. It is free of charge.
Callers can be connected to a local or STD number by an operator by dialling 12456. This will cost $1.10 on top of the normal call charge. There is a fee exemption for eligible customers with severe physical disabilities (including people with quadriplegia, severe motor neurone disease) who are unable to use a standard telephone or find dialling extremely difficult.
Telstra Call Control allows a restriction to be placed on calls made from a nominated phone without affecting incoming calls. Outgoing calls can only be made by a person who knows and keys-in the Personal Identification Number (PIN) allocated by Telstra. This applies to STD, 0055, 0011 International or even local calls.
