DTAC Hand Rail Button

This raised stainless steel dome is also known as a handrail tactile indicator. It indicates discontinuity of a handrail. It is required to be fitted where a handrail does not extend a minimum 300mm required in AS 1428.1992, or where tactile ground surface indicators are not used, as a guide for people who are blind or have a vision impairment. It can be installed into handrails of stone, timber, vitrified tiles, ceramics, brass, bronze and steels.

More Details

* Hand rail buttons are also referred to in AS/NZS 1428 (Parts 1,2 & 4), as Handrail Tactile Indicators (HRTIs)
* They can be installed in situations where tactile ground surface indicators (TGSIs) are not required such as hospitals and aged care facilities to assist people with a visual impairment to access their environment.

* Manufactured from 316 marine grade stainless steel, the raised dome features precise milled finish and with a reverse tapered mounting stem
