An Airflow Sunshine bathroom 3-in-1 model provides the bathroom with fresh clear air, bright light and gentle radiant heat in one compact design. Four models are available including two or four heat lamps.
Specific details of dimensions suggested layouts and examples of fixtures and fittings are collated in `Guide to Planning Bathrooms and Kitchens' CD (ILC NSW), Australian Standards AS 1428 Parts 1 and 2 have been referenced for location of fixtures and fittings and circulation spaces.
The planning of a bedroom for a person/s with a disability should be based on a knowledge of the occupant's requirements. Australian Standards AS 1428 Parts 1 and 2 and AS 4299 provide guidelines to the heights of fixtures and fittings such as door furniture, light switches, power points and circulation spaces required at doorways and for a forward or parallel approach to an object.
Home heating may be achieved by means of electric or gas heaters which are either portable or in built, or by reverse cycle air conditioning. (see separate buyers guide). The heater should be selected according to its capacity to warm a specific room or space and to maintain the warmth at a comfortable level.
General guidelines for kitchen layout and dimensions which will assist with kitchen design for people with disabilities are contained in the `Informative' Appendices of AS 1428.2 - 1992, AS/NZS 4386.1 - 1996 and AS 4299 - 1995. A reverse cycle air conditioner pumps heat from inside the home to the outside to cool it and to lower humidity levels, and can also pump heat from the outside air into the home to warm it in winter. Its efficiency depends upon its capacity and airflow rate. The air conditioner should be selected with the correct cooling and heating capacity for the room in which it is installed.
A small cylindrical (pen like) gauge used to measure the force required to push open a door. It provides an immediate reading in both kilograms and pounds.
