Aged Care Assessment Teams (ACATs) help older people and their carers decide what kind of care will best meet their needs when they are no longer able to manage at home without assistance. ACATs provide information on suitable care options and can help arrange access or referral to appropriate residential or community care.
The Aged Care Association Australia is a professional, national industry association for providers of quality residential and community aged care services. A federated peak body, ACAA is the only organisation that represents care providers from the private and voluntary sectors on a national basis.
The Aged Care Complaints Scheme provides a free service for anyone to raise their concerns about the quality of care or services being delivered to people receiving aged care services subsidised by the Australian Government.
A group for those interested in severe communication impairment eg speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation engineers, other health workers and communication aid users, who share information and resources by means of newsletter, interest groups, and a bi-annual conference.
AgrABILITY Australia is a self help network of farmers and farmworkers with disabilities. Based on a similar concept in America, AgrABILITY administered by Kate Boughton, commenced in Australia in 1996.
Aidacare provide preventative maintenance programs for aged care facilities. This services ensures that all equipment used by the aged care facility is serviced and maintained on a routine basis for required compliance and accreditation. Aidacare provide free onsite assessments.
The Albion Street Centre is a multi-disciplinary HIV/Aids Treatment training and research centre. Established in 1985 as an HIV Testing Clinic, it has developed into an Ambulatory Care Treatment Service for the management of people with HIV/Aids. The centre is funded by the NSW Department of Health and is part of the Eastern Area Health Service.
