ARAFMI NSW (Inc) provides support and advocacy for families and friends with mental illness or disorder. Their Information line provides information, support and referral to families and friends of people with mental illness. This includes people in crisis situations.
ARATA is a national association whose purpose is to serve as a forum for information sharing and liaison between people who are involved with the use, prescription, customisation, supply and ongoing support of assistive technology. Their focus is the advancement of rehabilitation and assistive technology in Australia, through activities including conferences, special interest groups, website, listserver, membership directory and a newsletter.
Artability is a craft course for people with disabilities. Classes are held at Forest Community Arts Centre on Saturday afternoons or Tuesday evenings.
Promotes research into arthritis. Provides education and organises support groups.
Provides information, advice and education regarding all types of arthritis and rheumatic disorders. Fundraisers for research. Also provides regular newsletter and can provide details of support groups throughout NSW.
Water exercise classes involving gentle exercises are held at various venues throughout metropolitan Sydney. Numbers for classes are strictly limited and bookings are essential.
Arts Access provides access to arts and cultural activity for people who are disadvantaged, including people with a disability. They offer the Arts Access EASE ticket service which provides practical information, personal service and affordable ticket prices to encourage greater participation.
This organisation was founded to address the needs and interests of men and women affected by an asbestos related disease. The Foundation aims to provide the wider community with information about the hazards of asbestos exposure. By doing this they hope to reduce the numbers of victims in future.
